Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

In principle, personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of collection or provision is achieved.

During the service period while the user is a member of UNCLE SAM, the user’s personal information will continue to be retained by UNCLE SAM. However, personal information will be destroyed without delay once the original purpose of collection or provision is achieved.

If a user disrupts the service—such as violating the terms of use or public order—UNCLE SAM may forcibly terminate the user’s membership regardless of the user’s intention.

Procedures and Methods for Destroying Personal Information

UNCLE SAM destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved. The destruction procedures and methods are as follows:

Information entered by a member during membership registration or other activities is destroyed after the purpose has been fulfilled, in accordance with internal policies and relevant laws governing information retention (refer to the “Retention and Use Period”).

Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make record restoration impossible.

Provision of Personal Information

UNCLE SAM does not provide users’ personal information to external parties as a general rule. However, exceptions apply in the following cases:

- When the user has given prior consent

- When required by law or when requested by investigative agencies following lawful procedures

Entrustment of Collected Personal Information

UNCLE SAM does not entrust users’ personal information to external companies without consent.

If such a need arises in the future, UNCLE SAM will notify users of the entrusted parties and the scope of work and, when necessary, obtain prior consent.

Rights of Users and Legal Guardians and How to Exercise Them

Users and legal guardians may view or modify their own personal information or the personal information of children under age 14 at any time, and may also request cancellation of membership.

To view or modify personal information, users may click “Edit Information.” To cancel membership (withdraw consent), users may click “Delete Account” and complete the identity verification process, after which they may directly view, correct, or delete their information. Users may also contact the Personal Information Protection Officer in writing, by phone, or via email for prompt assistance.

If you request the correction of errors in your personal information, the information will not be used or provided until correction is completed. If incorrect information has already been provided to a third party, the corrected information will be communicated to the third party without delay.

Personal information that has been deleted or terminated at the request of a user or legal guardian will be handled in accordance with the “Retention and Use Period of Personal Information” and will not be viewed or used for any purposes other than those permitted by law.

However, rejecting cookie storage may result in difficulties using certain services.
